169 Mr. N. Treacy asked the Minister for Education if she will sanction a project (details supplied) in County Galway; the date on which this will be sanctioned; the amount of money to be allocated; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [5470/97]

My Department's inspectorate has been requested to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy. Any decision regarding the development of facilities for children with a mental handicap in the area in question must await the outcome of that investigation.
