I propose to take Questions Nos. 33, 35, 62 and 69 together.

St. Aidan's national school is an amalgamation of the Presentation Convent and CBS national schools in Enniscorthy.

I have not failed to honour a commitment to carry out refurbishment works at St. Aidan's primary school, Enniscorthy, County Wexford.

When the two schools amalgamated in 1994 my Department agreed that a programme of refurbishment works would take place. Since then, £166,000 grant aid has been sanctioned towards an initial schedule of improvements works at the school. The remaining major improvement works are combined into one project which I included in the 1996 capital programme. All of the necessary planning work for this project is complete. I appreciate the urgency of the case but due to budgetary constraints it was not possible to include all deserving projects in the first group of projects which were allowed to proceed to tender recently. The project is among those which will be considered for phased release to tender later in the year.
