155 Mr. Flood asked the Minister for Education the reason for the delay in transferring responsibility for the travelling training centres from the Department of Enterprise and Employment to her Department; if she will expedite this matter; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [5734/97]
My Department is engaged in discussions with the Departments of Enterprise and Employment and Finance with a view to finalising arrangements for a transfer of entire responsibility for senior traveller training centres to the Minister for Education. These discussions focus on funding, pensions, contractual and organisational matters. It is hoped that these arrangements can be finalised in time to effect a transfer at the earliest possible date.
