Ceist:266 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for the Marine if he will have arrangements made to pay a grant to a person (details supplied) in County Cork. [5623/97]
Written Answers. - Grant Payments.
The project in question was approved for grant aid in May 1996, to be paid at a later date due to limitations on the actual availability of EU funding in the short-term as was made clear in the letter conveying that approval.
Subsequently, with Commission approval, funds have been brought forward from future years within the processing measure of the Fisheries Operational Programme to pay present beneficiaries.
The Department has been in contact with An Bord Iascaigh Mhara and it is expected that the grant will be paid shortly.
