While all staff attached to my office are civil servants I am, for the purpose of replying to this question, assuming the Deputy is referring to those civil servants who are appointed on a contract basis.
The costs of such staff, at 1997 Civil Service salary rates, in the years referred to by the Deputy is as follows:
