296 Miss M. Wallace asked the Minister for Education the reason her Department has not paid a person (details supplied) for a fire alarm which was installed in Kilmessan National School, County Meath, in April 1995 and which was inspected by her Department's clerk of works and passed for payment in June 1995; and when this payment will be made. [8335/97]
My Department has no contract with the person referred to by the Deputy. However, I am aware that the fire alarm was installed at Kilmessan National School by the person in question. Under the terms of the contract, payments are routed through the main contractor on the school project. My Department will investigate the matter and make contact with the main contractor to resolve the matter.
