319 Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the number of applicants for omnibus licences to provide tours of Galway in 1997; the names of the applicants; and when a decision will be made on their applications. [8798/97]
I propose to answer Questions Nos. 318 and 319 together.
The following bus operators are currently licensed under the Road Transport Act, 1932 to provide tour services of Galway City in 1997: 1. Mr. Martin Lally, Lally Coach Hire, Spiddal Lodge, Spiddal, County Galway; 2. Mr. Hugh Ryan, Tullokyne, Moycullen, County Galway.
An application has also been received from Guide Friday (Ireland) Ltd., Rathmore, Naas, County Kildare to renew for 1997 the Galway city tour licence held by the company in 1996 and a decision on this application will be made shortly.
