I am not in a position to provide an indicative date for completion of the review by the Garda authorities of the rural community policing scheme.
As I previously stated, the review of the scheme and consideration in this context of its possible modification and-or extension involves a comprehensive and detailed consultative process including discussions between Garda management, the Garda representative bodies and, most importantly, local community interests. By its nature, this process will take some considerable time to complete.
