Pádraic McCormack

Ceist:

34 Mr. McCormack asked the Taoiseach the moneys which have been allocated by his Department to Inisbofin Island, County Galway, for the years 1995 and 1996. [10104/97]

In 1995 a grant of £30,000 was made to the Inishbofin Development Company towards the cost of the construction of a community and resource centre.

In 1996, following the selection of priority access projects by the Islands Committee of Galway County Council, the following grants for projects on Inishbofin were approved: feasibility study on the dredging of the harbour cost £20,000 and the installation of aeronautical lighting at the helipad cost £3,000.

In addition, a grant of £20,000 was made available for a feasibility study on improvement works for Cleggan pier, which serves Inishbofin and a grant of £14,000 was made available for the provision of cattle pens and loading boxes at the piers on the Galway islands, including Inishbofin.
