Byrne asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if his attention has been drawn to the contribution which young farmers make to the development of agriculture and the economy generally; if he will ensure the continuation of the scheme in respect of young farmers; if he will increase the amount payable to young qualified farmers; if he will review the various restrictions applying to the scheme with a view to improving the overall operation of this scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
