Vol. 478 No. 5

Written Answers. - Teacher Appointments.

Brendan Kenneally

Ceist:

85 Mr. Kenneally asked the Minister for Education the reason a remedial teacher has not been approved for Ring national school, County Waterford, which is in a Gaeltacht area, particularly in view of the fact that dyslexic children can only cope with one language; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [11544/97]

Hugh Byrne

Ceist:

86 Mr. H. Byrne asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the need for a remedial teacher for the parish schools of Ballycullane and Ramsgrange in County Wexford; if she will agree to the provision of such a teacher; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [11556/97]

Mildred Fox

Ceist:

91 Ms M. Fox asked the Minister for Education if she will appoint a remedial teacher to schools (details supplied) in County Carlow in view of the fact that these schools are being neglected in this regard. [11561/97]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 85, 86 and 91 together.

I am currently considering the possibility of making additional remedial teacher posts available to primary schools for the forthcoming school year.

I can assure the Deputies that the needs of the schools in question will be taken into account as part of this process.
