Vol. 479 No. 2
64 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Finance if all years of service are taken into consideration for State or semi-State employees when their pension entitlements are being calculated. [12433/97]
The pension arrangements for employees of State and semi-State organisations are determined by the rules of the scheme under which they are pensionable. Normally, all whole time service with the organisation is pensionable, with proportionate credit for part-time service. Pensionable service in other public sector organisations may also be pensionable, subject to the terms of the public sector transfer scheme.
Service in excess of 40 years is not reckonable for pension purposes and minimum service of five years is required to qualify for pension benefit.
