212 Mr. Broughan asked the Minister for Health the files, if any, with his Department relating to children placed into long-term foster care or informal adoption arrangements which did not come under the Adoption Act, 1952; and if so, the total number of these files. [14021/97]
I understand my Department has in storage some files relating to boarding out of children. I am having the matter examined and will communicate further with the Deputy. Informal adoption arrangements made prior to the coming into force of the Adoption Act, 1952, would not normally have been referred to my Department. However, I will arrange to have this examined and I will write to the Deputy on the matter.
