92 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Defence the current position on the changing status of the Ordnance Survey Office; whether current Army personnel will be offered other employment in the wider public service; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13457/97]
Discussions are taking place at present between the Department of Defence, the Department of Finance and the Ordnance Survey Office regarding the future arrangements for military personnel assigned to the Ordnance Survey Office. The discussions are being held in the context of the Defence Forces review implementation plan which covers the years 1996 to 1998. There is no question of compulsory redundancy for any of the personnel involved.
