146 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Finance if he will give details of the situation in relation to the taxation of widows' child dependants allowances in view of a court ruling some months ago; if it is necessary for widows to apply for refunds; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that they have lodged an appeal to the Supreme Court against the decision of the High Court in this case. The Deputy will appreciate that in the circumstances I cannot comment any further on the matter.
