Vol. 480 No. 3

Written Answers - Rural Environment Protection Scheme.

John V. Farrelly

Ceist:

51 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a REP scheme payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Meath; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14170/97]

The REP scheme includes provision for random inspections prior to payment. Such an inspection was carried out on the applicant's farm, as he was due his second year payment, and a problem was uncovered as a result. On two occasions since, a revised agri-environmental plan was requested to rectify the problem, but on each occasion the revised plan was found to be deficient. A third revised plan has now been submitted, and will be examined as soon as possible.
