Vol. 480 No. 6

Written Answers - Ministerial Appointments.

Bernard Allen

Ceist:

234 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children the appointments made by him through his personal office since being appointed, including programme managers, advisers, special advisers, constituency personnel and all other appointments other than Civil Service appointments; the salary being paid per annum in each case; and if he will give the same information in relation to Ministers of State at his Department. [15115/97]

Bernard J. Durkan

Ceist:

319 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of non-established civil servants employed in his Department and by the Ministers of State at his Department; their status and function; the costs in terms of salary or consultancy fees; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15024/97]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 234 and 319 together.

The information requested on non-established civil servants employed in this Department is detailed below. I take it that the Deputy is inquiring about ministerial staff appointed directly by myself or by the two Ministers of State.

There are other non-established civil servants employed in the Department who are not personal ministerial staff, these include porters and service officers and are not included in this reply.
Neither myself nor the two Ministers of State at the Department of Health and Children have appointed any programme manager, adviser or special adviser.
