Ceist:436 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands if she will confirm the allocation of £ 26 million for the Arts Council in 1998; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [14830/97]
I propose to take Questions Nos. 430 and 436 together.
The level of funding which will be available in 1998 to each of the bodies under the aegis of my Department, including An Chomhairle Ealaíon, is the subject of ongoing discussions I am having with my colleague, the Minister for Finance, as part of the annual estimates process.
