It is not the practice of the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to comment in detail about the individual Garda investigations.
I am informed by the Garda Authorities that the specific area mentioned in this question has suffered considerably from the drugs problem but that considerable improvement has been made there through the Garda and the community working closely together.
A member of the public may make a complaint about improper conduct by a member of the Garda Síochána to the Garda Síochána Complaints Board. Any such complaint will be investigated provided it is deemed admissible by the Chief Executive under the terms of the Garda Síochána (Complaints) Act, 1986. Any decision by the chief executive that a complaint is not admissible may be appealed by the complainant to the board.
