527 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the status of an application (details supplied) under section 49 in respect of a land transfer to the Land Registry Office; and if he will expedite the process. [14889/97]
I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this dealing refers to an appliction under section 49 (i.e. acquisition of title by virtue of long possession) of the Registration of Title Act, 1964 which was lodged on 6 May 1997. I understand that due to their complicated nature, applications under section 49 take some time to process and it is not possible to estimate a completion date at this stage.
I am further informed that queries issued to the lodging solicitors on 29 September 1997. The queries raised must be satisfactorily discharged before the matter can proceed.
