95 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs whether the provision of sensor lighting as a form of security for the elderly is grant-aided by his Department similar to the grant available under the alarms for the elderly scheme. [15077/97]
My Department provides funding under the scheme of community support for older people for equipment such as: small-scale physical security equipment such as strengthening of doors and windows, window locks, door chains and locks and security equipment; and socially monitored alarm systems.
Grants under the scheme are available to any voluntary or community-based organisation working with or providing support for vulnerable older people. Funding for the provision of sensory lighting equipment is available under the scheme.
