Vol. 480 No. 8

Written Answers. - Railway Accidents.

Deirdre Clune

Ceist:

76 Ms Clune asked the Minister for Public Enterprise when she will receive a report from the investigators into the rail crash in Glasnevin, Dublin 9, on 19 September 1997, involving ammonia carriers; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [15241/97]

As the investigation by Iarnród Éireann into the cause of this accident is at an early stage it is not possible to say with certainty when the board of inquiry's report will be finalised. However, Iarnród Éireann has indicated that the investigation will be completed and the report made available to my Department's railway inspecting officer as soon as possible.

Deirdre Clune

Ceist:

77 Ms Clune asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if she will give details of any previous incidents involving ammonia carriers on rail lines, not including the incident on 19 September 1997. [15243/97]
