66 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the current position regarding the appointment of a training officer to the Irish marine emergency service; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15348/97]
I am able to advise the Deputy that a competition was held in July by the Civil Service Commission for the recruitment of two training and operations officers.
It is envisaged that the first appointment will be made in November 1997 and the second appointment before the end of 1997.
