45 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Education and Science the proposals, if any, he has to address the staffing problems in the pension and salary section, post primary, in his Department in Athlone, County Westmeath; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16720/97]
Some difficulties of a temporary nature have arisen in the post-primary pensions and salaries sections of my Department. These are primarily due to the exceptionally heavy workload which has emanated from the implementation of the agreement on pay and conditions of teachers under the PCW. Some of the difficulties have been resolved and the remainder are being addressed as a matter of priority.
