86 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Education and Science the plans, if any, he has to establish an outreach centre of Carlow Regional Technical College in Naas, County Kildare; if he intends to use the Army Apprentice School for this purpose; and if he will make a statement on the matter. No proposal has been received from Carlow Regional Technical College for an outreach centre in Naas, County Kildare.
The Government decided on 8 April 1997 to locate at Skibbereen on a pilot project basis, an outreach centre of Cork Regional Technical College, using a high level of telematic delivery of educational programmes.
Pending our experience of the Skibbereen project, I do not consider it appropriate to establish any further outreach centres.
