280 Mr. P. Carey asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will be able to advance proposals in the near future in relation to the reform of the School Attendance Acts, 1926 to 1967; if he envisages the school attendance service being reformed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I assure the Deputy that my Department is currently considering the drafting of new legislation to replace the School Attendance Act, 1926 and update arrangements in this important area.
