Written Answers. - Water Quality Schemes.
According to my Department's records which are compiled from data supplied by the local authorities, to date 15 water quality management plans have been made by local authorities under section 15 of the Local Government (Water Pollution) Act, 1977. Seven of these plans were made jointly by a number of local authorities. Details of existing plans are set out in the following table.
In addition, further water quality management plans are in the course of preparation by a number of local authorities. This includes water quality management strategies for the Foyle and Erne which are being prepared on a cross-Border basis with the assistance of INTERREG funding.
Fifteen water quality management plans have been made by local authorities under Section 15 of the Local Government (Water Pollution) Act, as follows:
