I propose to take Questions Nos. 30 and 58 together.
I met the promoters of the Auto-Turning Training Centre project for Ballina at the end of September. In view of the fact that a significant element of public moneys would be required to operate such a centre, FÁS has been carefully considering the proposal in terms of the needs of the Auto-Turning Industry, the extent to which the proposed centre would meet those needs and at what cost in terms of the equipment, materials, staffing, and so on.
I understand that the board of FÁS will consider the matter shortly. I am satisfied FÁS is in the best position to make a decision on the provision of the facilities proposed by the promoters of this project.
