Vol. 482 No. 6

Written Answers. - Car Tax.

Jimmy Deenihan

Ceist:

274 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Finance when car tax exemption and allowance will be made available to drivers of the visually impaired and blind. [19062/97]

At present, individuals and orgnisations who qualify under the terms and conditions of the Disabled Drivers and Disabled Passengers (Tax Concessions) Regulations, 1994 are exempt, in full or in part, from the payment of specified taxes and allowances.

I have no plans to review the medical criteria for qualification under the scheme.
