149 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for Education and Science the current position regarding the application by the Galway school project, Corrib village, Newcastle, County Galway to his Department seeking grant aid for the purchase of a site for the proposed school on the Thomas Hynes Road, Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. At present, it is not open to my Department to acquire sites for denominational or multi-denominational schools. School ownership at primary level is among the issues currently being examined by the Commission on School Accommodation Needs. When the commission reports on this matter, I will re-examine the position.
