Vol. 483 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Willie Penrose

Ceist:

161 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath will be paid his 1997 REP scheme grant; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20386/97]

An application from the person named for a third year payment under the REP scheme was received in September and a compliance inspection was carried out in October. Following that inspection, notification of a penalty was issued to the person named. A payment, with the appropriate penalty amount deducted, will now be processed. The applicant has a right of appeal.

Breeda Moynihan-Cronin

Ceist:

162 Mrs. B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when cattle headage and suckler premium will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry. [20392/97]

Payments are continuing to issue to farmers under all premium and headage schemes.

While the requirements of the land parcel identification system which is fully operational in 1997 under EU rules have been a complicating factor in processing the various premium and headage applications this year, it is expected that most remaining payments will be made in the very near future.
