342 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if his Department will expedite applications lodged in the Land Registry for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny which is required for payment of grant by the Department of Agriculture and Food. [20447/97]
I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this dealing refers to an application under section 49, that is acquisition of title by virtue of long possession, of the Registration of Titles Act, 1964 and a Transfer of Part. I understand that due to their complicated nature applications under section 49 take some time to process and it is not possible to estimate a completion date at this stage. Queries have, however, recently issued to the lodging solicitor and replies are awaited.
The Deputy may wish to note that the Transfer of Part cannot be processed until the section 49 application is completed.
