116 Ms Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Defence the reason some members of the Defence Forces who are working in Tralee, County Kerry have not been posted into the Tralee unit and remain reporting to Limerick; and the reason this situation has been ongoing for two years. [20207/97]
I am advised by the military authorities that the majority of personnel attached to 15 Infantry Battalion, were attached to that unit at their own request and not because fillable vacancies had arisen there or that the requirements of the unit necessitated the attachment of additional personnel. I am further advised that these personnel report to Sarsfield Barracks, Limerick only when they are required to do so as part of their normal duties.
