109 Mr. M. Ahern asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the reason no new funding will be available in 1997 or in 1998 for the swimming pool programme; and if he will give details of projects to which funding had been committed prior to his taking office. [20677/97]
The provision for the swimming pool programme in 1997 is £3.5 million and the 1998 provision will be £4 million; an increase of £1.5 million and £2 million respectively on the 1996 provision of £2 million. The projects approved for funding from the 1997 and 1998 provisions, prior to my taking up office, are set out in the following table:
