The details of the number of motorists fined for illegal car parking and the amount of money collected for this offence are not readily available. This information could only be obtained by the expenditure of a disproportionate amount of Garda and departmental time and resources.
However, the Deputy may wish to note that details of the number of fines on the spot issued for parking violations are published in the Garda Síochána annual report, copies of which are available in the Oireachtas Library. The attention of the Deputy is drawn to the fact that a motorist may have received multiple fines.
