144 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will tabulate the agreed implementation dates for the various components of the revised teachers' proposals under the Programme for Competitiveness and Work; the implementation dates in this regard, if implemented; if so, the time gaps between the two sets of dates: and the reason these gaps have occurred. The tabular information sought by the Deputy is being prepared at present and will be forwarded to him as soon as possible. The general position is that many of the agreed items have been implemented including the early retirement measures, the adjustment to the payscale, the qualification allowances and the long service allowance. In the case of outstanding items, detailed implementation arrangements need to be agreed between the parties in advance of implementation. Discussions are ongoing between the relevant parties on these arrangements. It is hoped that these discussions will be finalised shortly.
