Ceist:80 Mr. Ferris asked the Minister for Education and Science the amount of money provided in the 1998 Estimates for adult education and adult literacy; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21689/97]
Written Answers. - Adult Education and Literacy.
The global provision for adult education for 1997 is of the order of £43 million. The allocation for 1998 will be of a similar order, with additional funding to meet the cost of pay increases and inflation. An additional £2 million has been allocated for adult literacy in the budget for 1998.
The Estimates for 1998 have not yet been finalised.
