Ceist:

352 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason a person (details supplied) in County Cork who is resident in Cork has been refused a higher education grant by Cork County Council in respect of a post graduate course in UCD while her counterparts in UCC have already received their grants for the same course; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department has raised this matter with the Higher Education Authority and is awaiting clarification in relation to the status of the course involved. I will arrange for the Deputy to be advised of the outcome of these inquiries and the decision taken in the light thereof in relation to the student's entitlement to a grant under the higher education grants scheme.
