Vol. 484 No. 3

Written Answers. - Departmental Agencies.

Ivor Callely

Ceist:

42 Mr. Callely asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the number of state agencies available to assist enterprise and small business; the services available from each agency; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [22070/97]

The State Agencies operating under the aegis of my Department which have a role in assisting enterprise and small business are as follows: Forbairt, Forfas, IDA Ireland, Shannon Development, An Bord Tráchtála, FÁS, the county enterprise boards and the National Standards Authority of Ireland.

The agencies offer a range of services to assist in the development of enterprise, including the provision of advice, consultancy and financial support in all aspects of business development including production and operations, technology, human resources, and marketing.

Detailed information on the activities of the agencies is generally available in their annual reports which, as the Deputy will be aware, are available in the Oireachtas Library. Information on their specific services is available from the agencies themselves.
