Certain amendments to the Companies (Forms) Order, 1964 are required to facilitate the ratification by Ireland of three conventions relating to the legalisation of documents. While progress has been made on the preparation of the necessary statutory instrument to amend the order, certain clarifications are awaited from the Departments of Foreign Affairs and Justice, Equality and Law Reform, before the statutory instrument can be finalised by the office of the parliamentary draftsman. These clarifications are being pursued as a matter of urgency.
Amendment of the rules of the superior courts, a matter for my colleague the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, will also be necessary before the conventions can be ratified.
