Ceist:272 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the current position in relation to the registration of a boat (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2105/98]
Written Answers. - Fishing Vessel Registration.
The owner of the boat in question has applied for a sea fishing boat licence, under the special scheme designed to regularise the position of a substantial number of vessels which have been in the fishing fleet but which, for various reasons, have not been formally licensed or registered. The issuing of decisions on applications under this scheme will commence shortly, and the owner of any boat in respect of which a licence is granted may apply to have it entered on the fishing vessels register.
