659 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the discussions, if any, he had with the Landlords' Association regarding the Housing (Registration of Rented Houses) Regulations, 1996; his future intentions, if any, on the issue; if the registration fee will remain in its current form; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I met the Irish Property Owners' Association in July last and a number of aspects of the private rented sector were discussed. Reference was also made, in passing, to the proceedings on an application before the High Court for a judicial review of the regulations. In view of these proceedings, it would be inappropriate for me to comment further at this stage.
