Ceist:

876 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will sanction a care assistant to accompany a person (details supplied) in Dublin 9 who has serious medical problems in order that he can travel on the school bus to Temple Street school; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1604/98]

Minister for Education and Science (Mr. Martin):

I am happy to inform the Deputy that my Department has made arrangements through the Eastern Health Board to meet the transport costs of a person to accompany the child in question to and from school.

I understand that this arrangement is working satisfactorily.
