Vol. 486 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hospital Developments.

Austin Deasy

Ceist:

42 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will provide the necessary finance for the second phase of the replacement hospital at St. Joseph's, Dungarvan, County Waterford. [2100/98]

Brian O'Shea

Ceist:

94 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will authorise phase two of the redevelopment of St Joseph's Hospital, Dungarvan, County Waterford in view of the fact that, with the design team and contractor in place, it would seem a cost effective time to give the go-ahead; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2095/98]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 42 and 94 together.

The determination of the capital programme for services for older people is currently under consideration. The provision of capital resources for the further development of St. Joseph's Hospital, Dungarvan, will be considered in the light of the availability of capital resources and the priority attached to the development by the South-Eastern Health Board having regard to its other capital requirements.
