119 Mr. D. Carey asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands the number of films made on location in Ireland in 1997; the estimated revenue generated locally as a consequence; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [2810/98]
From the information supplied to me by Bord Scannán na hÉireann and available to me by virtue of my responsibilities in the certification of film projects under section 481 of the Taxes Consolidation Act, 1997, some forty film projects — excluding animation and documentaries — either commenced or completed principal photography on location in Ireland in 1997. Locations included counties Clare, Cork, Donegal, Dublin, Galway, Kerry, Kildare, Mayo, Meath, Monaghan, Offaly, Westmeath, Wexford and Wicklow.
I do not have any information in relation to the revenue generated locally on these projects.
