Ceist:30 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands the plans, if any, she has to decentralise her Department to Galway; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [2807/98]
Written Answers. - Decentralisation Programme.
The Minister of State at my Department, Deputy Ó Cuív, announced last month that the administration of my Department's programme of improvements schemes in the Gaeltacht was transferred from the Department's headquarters in Dublin to the Department's office in Na Forbacha, Galway, with effect from the beginning of that month.
When my Department took on the responsibility for the islands it was decided that this work would be administered from the Department's offices in Na Forbacha, Galway.
I have no further plans to relocate additional work to Galway, at present.
