Vol. 486 No. 6

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

Michael Creed

Ceist:

299 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if his Department will expedite a dealing (details supplied) in the Land Registry. [3398/98]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this dealing refers to an application under section 49, i.e. acquisition of title by virtue of long possession, of the Registration of Title Act, 1964, which was lodged on 25 October 1996. I understand that due to their complicated nature applications under section 49, which require detailed examination of the applicant's claim for registration as owner, take some time to process.

I have been informed that this application is associated with a prior application which appears to conflict with some of the details supplied and the Land Registry expects to be in contact with the applicant's solicitor in the near future to rectify the situation. I can confirm, however, that the Land Registry will do everything possible to expedite the resolution of this application.

Michael Finucane

Ceist:

300 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the status regarding the deed transfer for persons (details supplied) in County Limerick who have applied to regularise their legal situation. [3399/98]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that they are unable to trace this application on the basis of the details supplied.

If the Deputy can let me have the date of lodgment, the dealing-folio number and the name of the lodging party, I will have further inquiries made in the matter.
