Vol. 487 No. 3

Written Answers. - Road Traffic Offences.

Ben Briscoe

Ceist:

264 Mr. Briscoe asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of prosecutions which have been brought against motorists for straddling the yellow boxes for the last year for which figures are available; and if he will make a statement given that many motorists seem to ignore the fact that they are breaking the law. [3942/98]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that the information requested by the Deputy is not readily available and could be compiled only by the diversion to the task of a disproportionate amount of Garda time and resources.
