I understand that representations are currently being made to the Iranian authorities on behalf of the EU citizen in question by his national consular authorities. I also believe that an appeal has been lodged and hence that Iranian legal processes have not yet been completed. In these circumstances it would not be appropriate for me to make a more detailed statement at this juncture.
