Ceist:

87 Mr. Collins asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the amount of money which has been spent by the Irish Government in implementing the Urban Waste Water Treatment Regulations, 1994; and the amount of money needed to implement these regulations in full in accordance with our European obligations on this issue prior to the year 2005. [5340/98]

The total cost of implementing the Urban Waste Water Treatment Directive in Ireland is estimated at £1.3 billion. Information on the amount of State and EU capital funding expended to date on the implementation of schemes required under the Directive is being compiled and will be forwarded to the Deputy as soon as possible.
